The exim is an open source email server and it has a lot of flexible options and commands to manage. Here is some useful configuration and log files of the exim mail server for WHM/cPanel and Directadmin server.
Understanding the exim Logs – WHM/cPanel
The exim configuration file;
# /etc/exim.conf
Incoming mail queue;
# /var/spool/exim/input/
Important log files;
# /var/log/exim_mainlog : Delivery and receipt log
# /var/log/exim_rejectlog : Log of messages rejected based on ACLS or other policies
# /var/log/exim_paniclog : Unexpected/Fatal error log
IMAP, POP login attempts, transactions, fatal errors and spam scoring;
# /var/log/maillog And # /var/log/messages
Mailman;
# /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailmain/logs
Understanding the exim Logs – Directadmin
In direct admin control panel, the log locations are little differ from cPanel.
# /var/log/exim/mainlog
# /var/log/exim/paniclog
# /var/log/exim/processlog
# /var/log/exim/rejectlog

Hello , I am pleased you wrote nice blog. I have a problem in my cpanel when i go to email trace it shows emails which is not entered by any user. At every hours it comes emails. I want to remove that. How it could be possible and tell me 1 thing how we go this path /var/log/exim_mainlog , /var/log/exim_mainlog , /var/log/exim_rejectlog without command prompt. It’s very urgent for me. Thanks in Advance
