How to remove your IP address from Gmail blacklist?

Are you frustrated with sending emails to Gmail account? A lot of bounced back messages?

Here we go with a solution for this problem. Yeah, It’s totally a frustrating one, getting a lot of bounced back emails instead of its normal delivery. Which means your domain or its IP address is blocked / blacklisted at Google for any suspicious activity, most probably Spamming from your account or any other accounts associated with that IP address.

In this case, that is emails to Gmail accounts; you may get the following error messages as bounce back if your domain or IP address is blacklisted at Google / Gmail. Submit a delist request from here.

Example One; Error code 421

421-4.7.0 unsolicited mail originating from your IP address. To protect ourn421-4.7.0users from spam, mail sent from your IP address has been temporarily 21-4.7.0 rate limited. Example Two; Error code 550

Remote host said: 550-5.7.1 Our system has detected an unusual rate of unsolicited mail originating from your IP address. To protect our users from spam, mail sent from your IP address has been blocked. Please visit http://www.google.com/mail/help/bulk_mail.html to review our Bulk Email Senders Guidelines.

Reasons

1. Main reason; Spammers exploiting your domain to send a lot of Spam emails to Gmail.

2. It might be due to the weak password of your email accounts associated with this domain or computer compromised.

3. If your domain (email accounts associated with it) send a lot of Spam emails to Gmail users, this can cause a domain or IP blacklist at Gmail. This spam volume, user complaints (they can simply mark an email as Spam for them) and other issues trigger Gmail’s blacklist filters.

4. Poor email practices, like forwarding unnecessary emails to Gmail accounts can cause email blacklist.

How do I realize that my domain is blacklisted at Google / Gmail?

If your IP address / domain is listed at Gmail, your outgoing emails to Gmail will reject with any of the messages (Error Code 421 or 550) which I explained above. You can’t send emails to Gmail.

How to remove the IP address block from Gmail?

You need to contact directly Google team to submit a removal request. You can submit a delist request from the following link:

🙂 Quick link to submit a removal request at Gmail 🙂

You want to give the blacklist removal team as much information as possible to decide them you are not a spammer.

FYI, please make sure that your account is free from any types of Spamming. If your domain is in a shared account with shared IP address, please contact your hosting provider and check the email server and make sure that the accounts using that shared IP address is not involved in any suspicious activities.

Then reset the email account’s password with a strong one. That’s it buddy!!
